Cost Management

RDA leverages its Enhanced Value Analysis Program and proprietary technology and product research solutions to deliver significant and measurable results in cost reduction and sustainable cost containment efforts.

 

Our technology tools support cost management initiatives that enhance data analytics, value analysis, and PPI cost reduction services in collaboration with physicians and clinicians in achieving desired savings outcomes for acute and non-acute healthcare providers.

 

RDA offers the following Cost Management Program services to the healthcare industry to lower costs, drive efficiencies, and improve quality:

 

  • Enhanced Value Analysis & Collaborative Clinical Decision Support Programs

  • Supplies & Purchased Services Spend Analysis

  • Identification of specific standardization opportunities

  • Cost savings opportunity analysis for contracting opportunities

Fee Structure Options

 

RDA offers its Cost Management Programs with the following Fee Structure Options:

 

  • Fee-For-Services – Flat monthly rate based on scope of services, savings target, number of resources required and duration of the engagement.

  • Gainsharing – Monthly rate equal to 25% of projected annualized savings at time initiative is approved by client for implementation, with consideration to cap Fees at a pre-negotiated dollar amount based on identification and implementation of a specific savings target to reach the cap.

  • Guaranteed Savings Ratio – Total Project Fees are adjusted to equal no more than 25% of projected, annualized savings at the end of the engagement period, with a Rebate Clause where RDA would rebate the client a percent of monthly consulting fees paid if the guaranteed savings target is not achieved upon completion of the engagement to meet a Guaranteed Savings Ratio of 4-to-1.

 

RDA targets the achievement of at least a 4-to-1 ROI for its Cost Management engagements regardless of the selected Fee Structure Option. RDA Cost Management agreements with clients contain mutually agreeable descriptions and examples for documenting, calculating, and reporting actual savings throughout the term of the engagement to ensure achievement of the desired savings target.

 

RDA offers its Contract Management Services, resources and technology solutions on a fee-for-services basis for either an interim or extended period of time, per client-specific requirements.

Utilizing our proprietary Savings Opportunity and analytical processesRDA provides clients with a No Cost, No Obligation Analysis that identifies potential savings opportunities for specific categories of high dollar volume supplies and PPIs such as Spine and Hips & Knees.

Supply Chain

Supply costs, labor and overhead related to supply chain management can account for as much as one-third of a hospital’s operating budget, and therefore, present opportunities for significant savings through the elimination of redundancies in the supply chain, operational improvements, and increased efficiency in the related logistics and materials functions.  As healthcare institutions realize this potential for savings, they are seeking experts in this field to identify and affect these areas of opportunity.

 

RDA assists healthcare institutions evaluate their supply chain management and related logistics operations in order to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, productivity, and service.  In association with operational redesign, RDA can identify additional cost reduction opportunities from inventory asset optimization and reduction initiatives, product standardization, spend and utilization management, product pricing, contract compliance, invoice errors, and purchased services audits in order to address the full scope of supply chain operations.

 

Interim Management Services constitutes the assumption of responsibility and authority for the supervision and management of specific departments or operational activities.  This control of the healthcare institution’s personnel and resources could be provided from a central location or could involve the placement of an RDA resource(s) on-site on an interim basis or for an extended period of time, usually twelve to twenty-four months. Contracted Resources Services involves 1) providing experienced resources to support a client’s internal high-priority projects based on a shortage of available resources or skill sets to support these projects; 2) providing resources for rapid response to support any internal supply chain situation on a temporary basis; 3) or providing resources for an extended period of time to perform supply chain services, or functions per client-specified requirements.
